We are very pleased to announce the 3rd Academic Meeting of the Young Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Exchange Meeting, which will be held from May 10th (Saturday) to 11th (Sunday), 2025, at the Hiroshima International Conference Center (located in Peace Memorial Park, 1-5 Nakajima-cho, Naka-ku, Hiroshima City), with on-site participation and live streaming via Zoom. On-demand streaming will be available from June 2nd (Monday) to 30th (Monday), 2025 (tentative). We are deeply grateful for this precious opportunity and would like to extend our warm greetings to the participants and colleagues from overseas.

The Japan Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, with over 11,000 members, aims to advance research and disseminate knowledge in oral and maxillofacial surgery, contributing to academic progress and promoting public health in Japan. One of the society's primary missions is to nurture the next generation of young oral and maxillofacial surgeons. We also strive to enhance international collaboration with academic organizations related to oral and maxillofacial surgery worldwide, thereby promoting further internationalization and academic exchange for future generations.

This “Young Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Exchange Meeting, Next-Gen Meeting” was initiated to create an exchange space and chance, where young doctors and residents aiming to become future specialists in oral and maxillofacial surgery can share their daily thoughts, concerns, and big dreams face-to-face, fostering interaction through their clinical and research experiences, as well as work-life balance and career advancement. For this 3rd meeting, we aim to expand the circle of interaction to include young and residents, Next-Gen professionals from Korea (KAOMS) and Taiwan (TAOMS), aspiring to become future specialists in oral and maxillofacial surgery. We have designed an innovative program to promote active academic exchange and foster international friendship bonds.

The main theme of this year's exchange meeting is "Let's Learn More About Enjoyable Oral Surgery Techniques!" We have prepared a variety of programs to support young professionals to leap forward as “young surgeons.” Through this 3rd academic exchange meeting, we hope you will gain new insights into enjoyable oral surgery techniques and knowledge, and together, develop a sense of responsibility, pride, and confidence as future oral and maxillofacial surgeons. Whether it’s cancer resection and reconstruction, maxillofacial trauma, dentofacial deformities, dental implants, cleft lip and palate surgeries, or even daily tooth extractions, each procedure is highly rewarding, bringing joy and gratitude from patients. We are thrilled if our efforts and preparations contribute to the development of professionals who can provide oral and maxillofacial medical and dental care that supports future patients.

Hiroshima in May has a pleasant climate with little rain, making it an ideal season for comfortable travel. Surrounded by the sea and mountains, Hiroshima Prefecture is rich in nature and offers many historical and gourmet attractions. Before and after the conference, you can enjoy plenty of sightseeing. The Atomic Bomb Dome, along with the Peace Memorial Park and Peace Memorial Museum, is a must-visit spot, and Itsukushima Shrine, a World Heritage site floating on the sea, is also beautifully selected as one of Japan’s top three scenic views. You can also savor local delicacies such as okonomiyaki, oysters, and conger eel.

We look forward to seeing you at the Young Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Exchange Meeting with you all in May at the Hiroshima International Conference Center!
